Attraction Highlight:
Baiyun Mountain(白云山), which is a small mountain that dominates the town, is approximately 15km north of the town centre. Hardly a mountain at only 382m. It's part of the Kun Shan mountain rage. Pagodas, monasteries and teshouses are dotted about its base and when the weather is clear and the pollution isno't too bad, views from the top can be gorgeous. However, it is often difficult to get away from other tourists.
Guangzhou is a busy city. People in Guangzhou need relaxed. Baiyun Mountain is a amazing place for relaxing. You will not, however, be the only one with this inspiration and, on the weekends especially, the hills are just 15km north of the town centre. The hike to the highest point should take more than an hour, but there is the requisite cable car that can do the work for you. Temples, lookouts and tea houses will make sure you never feel alone in the wild:) Besides, the views of the city are great and somewhat comforting.
